Sapporo

7 DAYS / 4 ROUNDS of GOLF
AUTUMN August-October

Sapporo means ‘important river flowing through a plain’ in local Ainu language. Here is the capital of Hokkaido and Japan's fifth largest city. Sapporo is also one of the nation's youngest major cities. Although in 1857, the city's population stood at just seven people.

Golfers know Sapporo for the stunning golf courses and amazing local scenery. We love this region and operate here in the calm autumn season, running from August to October. At a mere 75 minutes north of Tokyo, Sapporo is an easy and convenient golfing location.

Sunday Day 1.  Sapporo

Welcome to the North Country. Due to staggered arrival times, we ask that you make your way to the Sapporo Prince Hotel. A fast and frequent train operates to and from the airport After 2pm you may check-in and explore the surroundings or use the beautiful hotel facilities. We meet in the hotel lobby at 6pm for canapes to introduce your fellow golfers.

Monday Day 2.  North Country Golf Club

The North Country Golf Club is 18 holes on a course that differs no more than five meters in elevation from the natural contour of the land. Smooth, virtually treeless fairways and eight surrounding ponds provide a pleasurable game for long hitters and precision players alike. Afterward, tuck into a delicious Hokkaido sirloin steak at the elegantly designed clubhouse. Enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Sapporo.

Tuesday Day 3.  Gozensui Golf Club

One very beautiful golf course. With large amounts of water, the golf course is not only beautiful but also vibrant with life. Here you feel the world of nature. Often one sees fox and deer running across the fairways. The course looks to be flat overall, but the fairways are undulating and can be difficult depending on where you hit the ball. There are ponds and bunkers in exquisite locations and the course is in a forest, so it has a new different difficulty.

Wednesday Day 4.  Jozankei and Sapporo Beer Factory

We leave the hotel at a reasonable 9am for the countryside and onsen area of Jozankei. Here are over 50 hot springs where we can snack and relax in the soothing waters. Lunch is served along the way in the traditional style. A walk through the town before we head for the Sapporo Beer Factory and Eatery. We arrive late afternoon and have the opportunity to see and to sample the liquid. Then to the Genghis Khan Hall restaurant for evening dinner.

Thursday Day 5.  Sapporo Golf Club – Yuni Course

This is a very prestigious golf club. The Yuni course, designed by Seiichi Inoue, hosted the ANA Open golf tournament three times. A difficult strategic course with hazards and has a history of fast greens. Previously, it was only a caddy and walking round, but now you can enjoy comfortable self-play with a two-seater electric cart. This is a wonderful golf day out.

Friday Day 6 Sapporo.  Bay Golf Club

Sitting beside the Sea of Japan, this course has an atmosphere. It was a great course where you can enjoy a lot of strategy. A course built on sandbar-like terrain and at the mouth of the Ishikari River. It was designed by Pete Dye, so it has a unique atmosphere with several hazards using ponds, bunkers, and sleepers. There are almost no holes where you can't see a pond. The holes are all well maintained and picturesque. This is a fun but serious course.

Saturday Day 7.  Depart Sapporo

Hotel checkout time is 10am We have arranged transfers to Sapporo Airport and we wish you a pleasant flight back home. Come back to Japan again. But for now we say Sayonara.
